Concepts
Invoices, destinations, checkout sessions, and settlement are separate objects. Do not collapse them into a wallet balance.
Objects

| Invoice | Quoted payment: address, asset, network, amount, expiry, status. |
| Checkout session | Short-lived, narrowly scoped token for hosted or embedded UI. |
| Destination | Merchant wallet that receives the settled share. |
| Event | Signed webhook payload. Deduplicate on event id. |
| Settlement | On-chain merchant transfer after the 0.99% protocol fee. |
Payment truth lives on the server
Closing checkout, locking a phone, or hitting a return URL does not stop detection. A browser callback is not proof of payment. Confirmation, merchant settlement, and the protocol-fee sweep are three states. They appear the same in the API, webhooks, console, and checkout.
